About Us

Our guiding principle is the belief that talent is equally distributed but opportunities are not. Our goal is to create more equitable opportunities for students and communities of color.

We aim to bridge disparities in access by supporting the creation of fully equipped learning spaces for students, returning citizens and communities of color. We do this by providing access to resources across disciplines — STEM, art, media and more — and creating a win-win-win ecosystem where:

  1. Companies can donate and write off excess high-quality tech, furniture and supplies to be repurposed.

  2. Students, returning citizens and low-income communities can repurpose and use these resources to fully reach their goals and potential.

  3. The environment benefits from reducing waste associated with disposing of or storing unused materials that can still be of value.

Our goal is to ensure that no one misses out on opportunities because of a lack of access to technology or resources.

You can help us bridge that gap.

Meet the reWerk Team

  • Will | Founder

Will was inspired to start reWerk as the pandemic began exacerbating the digital divide, and he doubled down on the simple idea that could have tremendous impact for communities of color. He oversees reWerk’s business operations and identifies partners & companies looking to donate equipment/tech to underserved communities. He also manages relationships with the amazing foundations that have supported us in our mission. Will is passionate about finding innovative solutions to close opportunity gaps. Will is also a partner at a VC fund called Concrete Rose Capital which focuses on closing the racial wealth gap. In his free time, he’s a very dedicated dog dad and (f)uncle, and he loves ping pong and cycling.

  • Christina | Operations Lead

Christina manages delivery logistics between reWerk's tech/furniture donors and the recipients we work with. She started her career in nonprofit fund development, then moved into the program side of the house before managing a program supporting emerging nonprofits in the Bay Area. She recently served as an aide for a local legislature office before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She loves reading a good spy thriller and loves books by John Le Carre.

  • Eli | Logistics

Eli handles the pickups and drop-offs of our tech and furniture donations. He’s a crucial part of how we distribute donations to well-deserving community organizations and schools.

  • Angelica | Storytelling Lead

Angelica manages storytelling for reWerk. She’s spent her career in communications & PR, and has been deeply involved in diversity & inclusion initiatives at every company she’s worked at. She’s passionate about reWerk’s mission to facilitate more equitable access for underrepresented communities. In her free time, she’s also a YouTube content creator, and you’ll usually find her tackling a passion project like candle-making or home-brewing beer.

So how does reWerk really work?

reWerk redistributes the tech industry’s excess and unused office furnishing and resources to equip low-income communities and communities of color.

With the majority of tech companies either moving toward remote work, shifting office layouts for social distancing, or experiencing downsizing, we accept inventory from corporate donors and allocate those resources to communities who can put them to use. We prioritize sourcing high-demand materials including IT, network equipment, and computers for direct donation to community organizations and nonprofits, and for the (coming soon!) reWerk marketplace.

We like to think of ourselves as rocket-boosters, supporting and making connections for community organizers and nonprofits who are already doing great work…

to bridge the digital divide, support returning citizens and invest in low-income communities of color who haven’t historically received equitable support and opportunities to thrive. That means facilitating donations, knowledge-sharing and collaborations between donor companies and nonprofits.

While many people may already be familiar with income disparities, an urgent downstream impact of the widening wealth gap is the digital divide.

The digital divide is the gulf between those who have ready access to technology and the internet, and those who do not. That digital divide only further widens the opportunity gap we’re trying to close. We rely heavily on quality tech donations because technology spans across all industries and is a great resource in helping to bridge access to opportunities.
